Spencer has been with us since November last year and has been a shy boy slow to warm to the idea of leaving his mum to come along on walks. There have been ups and downs as we have learned his ways and gentle coaxing and encouragement, supported by his parents. By Christmas, we were starting to see more confidence and even got some playtime at the park! We then had a couple of weeks or so break over the holiday season and I was concerned all the hard work would have us move backward for a time, but was pleasantly surprised to be met with his gorgeous pokey nose and eager expression, ready for his walk that first day back and throughout January he has been grand! Eager to go, fairly relaxed, and happy to meet other dogs who are calm and gentle even when he knows his Mummy is at home working. There have been huge steps forward for Spencer who at the beginning would plant and refuse to move in any direction but home. I'm super pleased to have gained some trust with the boy and enjoy the time we get to spend together. Well Done Buddy! You're our Pet of the Month for your bravery and most improved behavior.
